Julia Buckley's Weight Loss Vlog Ep.1

By Julia Buckley

OK, so I'm really talking about fat loss here, but weight loss is the term most people use for that, so I've gone with that for the title to help people find this video. But, anyway, 12+ hour days working hard to get Fitness Rocks started (alongside my usual work) combined with illness and a couple of injuries have left me much flabbier and less fit than I was a year ago. So, time to turn this baby around! Here's my video blog about losing weight...

hot yoga

Sweat, tears, but no blood

By James Simpson

Hot yoga is not all that new but it is all the rage, with centres popping up all over the place. Considering how inflexible I am after years of gym work, with little stretching, I figured I should give it a go. It might seem easy to the untrained eye to go through a series of slow and quite deliberate postures in a lovely warm room, it is anything but…

Reebok CrossFit UK Launch - Official Video

I talked in my last vlog about going to the Reebok CrossFit launch in London with Christine Bleakley and Jack Osbourne. Here's the official video of the event from Reebok.

Reebok CrossFit, FIA Social Media Forum, Response to Critics of Runners' Rant & More...

By Julia Buckley

Just a quick catch up covering my response to comments on my "ignorant runners rant" and a bit about my week which included the Reebok Crossfit launch with Christine Bleakley and Jack Osbourne, taking part in the Fitness Industry Association Forum, and getting photographed in a wedding dress and trainers! Cheddar from the Mendips

It wasn't a run. It was an odyssey...

By TomB

This weekend I went on a bit of an adventure - running 57km on Saturday from home to Cheddar Youth Hostel and then 56km home on Sunday.  113km in total for the weekend.  Runs like this take on a different dimension.  Passing through fields, singletrack lanes, villages, by lakes, over moors and hills and much more.  I saw deer, wild goats with their kids, foxes and plenty of rabbits and squirrels.

Reclaim the gym!

By Matt Wolstenholme

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrunt! We’ve all heard them down the gym, the men making frankly unspeakable noises while lifting weights.

Once my ears were pounded by one guy taking it to a whole new level - he actually continued grunting for a good two minutes after he had finished lifting.

Running Drills - should you do them?

By Steph SCPT

Alistair Brownlee (ITU World Triathlon Champion) swears by running drills, but should we include them in our running workouts on a regular basis and how can they improve your running performance?

Well if they are good enough for Alistair (who can run a 10km in just over 29 minutes) then they are good enough for me.  So what are running drills and how will they improve your performance?

A triathlete’s life: the amazing Chrissie Wellington

By Ryding2Health

I met the amazing Chrissie Wellington the other day at the Triathlon show – the second time I have had the privilege actually. This time though, she was signing her book ‘Life without limits’. Meet Chrissie and get one of the most talked about books in recent triathlon history all at once? Oh yes!

Yin and Yang

Yin and Yang

By James Simpson

I have recently started a new six month work contract. I’m based out of an office in Hammersmith but one of the best things about the place is the subsidised canteen. I’m talking the likes of chicken goulash at £2.25 or beef madras same price. My belly and I love it.
